People have been visiting Qatar since the 5th century BC - but never more so than now, thanks to the growing popularity of this enchanting land with a timeless culture that perfectly combines the charms of old Arabia with the demands of today's modern travellers.
Located half way down the west coat of the Arabian Peninsula and with 700km of coastline washed by the blue waters of the Arabian Gulf, Qatar's friendly people welcomes tourists to its deep rooted heritage, modern hotels, historic forts, pristine beaches, fascinating museums, award-winning restaurants, lively markets (known as souqs), desert safaris, dhow cruises and international sporting events.
If you just want to relax and enjoy your luxury holiday, Qatar's world-class hotels offer every comfort, complete with swimming pools, health clubs, international restaurants, spacious lounges and beautifully landscaped grounds.
Qatar also welcomes younger travellers and kids are welcome everywhere. They can safely swim in the clean and shallow waters of the Arabian Gulf, visit the zoo or one of many parks offering fun rides and children's activities.
Some come to Qatar for a relaxing holiday with a difference, others as an extra special stop-over option en-route to another destination. Sunshine, fun and visitor satisfaction are guaranteed however long you chose to stay.
Voyana Arabian Gulf welcomes you to Qatar - a country preserved for you…
Getting Around
Qatar's airport is in the south-eastern section of Doha. Qatar does not have a bus system, so regular taxis and rented cars are your only options for getting to and from the airport and around the country. You can rent a car on most foreign licenses, and while driving can be a little hairy, you'll have no problem getting fuel. You should be able to get a decent car in Doha or at the airport for around US$30 a day.
When to Go to Qatar
Sunshine is promised throughout the year and the best time to visit is October to March. During the other months temperatures can be quite warm with the maximum in July / August.
