Pamplemousses Gardens
A visit to the Pamplemousses Gardens is a must for any keen botanist. The garden has been declared as a national treasure by the government and is officially listed among the ten most beautiful botanical gardens in the world. There are over five hundred different species of plants which includes the famous Talipot, originating from Sri Lanka. It is said that the Talipot blooms every one hundred years. It is estimated one of the Talipot flowers will bloom in the next couple of years.
Another famous sight of the landscaped gardens are the ponds with its huge water lilies.
Eureka Creole Museum
This museum is a wonderful example of a typical Creole Plantation House. The museum faces the Moka range and is surrounded by the waterfalls of the Moka River and vast gardens.
Ideally a visitor should visit the house in time for afternoon tea to drink on the veranda.
